Clay Creature Reflection (8-D): April 12, 2013
1. The strong parts of my project is the idea of it. Jelly fish float and I couldn't make it float upright.
2. I could have done a better job by doing it sooner. My clay dried so it's cracky and I'm almost sure it's going to break.
3. The theme of my project is a jellyfish. or underwater. I chose it because I assumed it would be challenging and I really like jellyfish.
4. The form is a round little bowl thing with danglers coming out of the opening it's horizontal. It's like the size of a microphone. It's on a flat platform.
5. I think the tentacles will stand out and I made them stand out I guess because jellyfish have tentacles.
6. I learned that clay dries quickly. And it's not fun to work with when it's dry and I found out again how much I hate my hands being dried out. I can apply the lessons as to not waiting.
7. To make the jellyfish I made the bowl and it wouldn't hold then I waited a few too long days and it dried too much but it formed better and i flattened out a platform and I manipulated thinner pieces to make tentacles. And rolled some to make tentacles.
8. I think this is a good project to do for a begininng art class. Just don't have a baby before we start it. And also this is an irrelevant question if you don't plan on having or want an Intro class. Otherwise yea the creature clay deal fun.
